Increasingly, international public administrations are making it compulsory to follow a BIM methodology for approving construction projects. And in Spain, specifically Law 9/2017 on Public Sector Contracts establishes the possibility of requiring that projects submitted to public tenders are made with BIM.

BIM stands for Building Information Modeling. It is a methodology that enables building construction projects to be tackled.

Specifically, at the time of designing a project, a virtual model of the building is created that centralises all the relevant information. At this point, it is important to note that it is not only a 3D model of what the building will look like, but also includes data for the actual construction of the building, for its maintenance throughout its life cycle, and even for its demolition.

In order to work with BIM it is necessary that all the elements that are part of the project are available in a specific digital format, which can be easily downloaded and used in the BIM model generation software. Each manufacturer's BIM content not only represents their products, but also includes other essential data such as installation instructions, energy consumption, eco-labels, operating costs and lifetime.

This is why Luznor has integrated into BIM Object, the global marketplace for the construction industry with more than 2.5 million users, a platform through which product manufacturers can reach, influence and understand architects, engineers and designers worldwide.

As a manufacturer, Luznor aims to further develop its relationship with specifiers and thereby gain access to more projects that require BIM content; the design technology of the future.
