Aldeadávila Dam

Aldeadávila Dam

Infrastructures, transport and energy
1962 / Aldeadávila de la Ribera, Salamanca

The Aldeadávila Dam is one of the largest dam engineering works in the world and the most important hydroelectric power station in Spain in terms of electricity production, covering more than 10% of the national total with an installed capacity of 1,139 MW.

In addition to standing out for the uniqueness of its construction (the hydroelectric power plant is located inside a cavern, drilled into the rock under the ground) it stands out for its surroundings, Las Arribes del Duero Natural Park.

Luznor has provided the necessary custom developments for this spectacular work, a record at the time of its construction and, in addition, the scene of several national and international filming.
