The Tâmega gigabattery involves the construction of three dams and three hydroelectric power plants (Gouvães, Daivões and Alto Tâmega) and is one of the largest hydroelectric projects undertaken in Europe in the last 25 years.
Located in the north of Portugal, this hydroelectric complex will have a total installed capacity of 1,158 MW, thus eliminating the emission of 1.2 million tonnes of CO2 per year. In addition, there will be the future construction of two wind farms that will turn the complex into a hybrid generation plant. This is undoubtedly the largest project Luznor is currently involved in.
